To show a modern look on custom pet illustrations.
I created this project from the idea of "What pet parent wouldn't want an illustration of their pet." Surprisingly pet parents spend more money than they expect on their animals because they love them a lot.
So I created posters based on the pets in my life and gave them a minimalistic background with some fun typography.
When choosing the backgrounds of the animals, I wanted to ensure I captured their attitudes and personalities, so I asked the owners what best represented them in their opinion, and they gave me their answers. For example, Joey is a stubborn cat with an all-powerful attitude, so we chose red.
And for the photo below, I incorporated a halo over the dog's head to show that he has passed on and added a quote for the owners to help with their grieving.
I also wanted to incorporate other types of custom pet illustrations that can be created. This was a custom piece for a friend's cat named after a Dragon Ball Z character. I took the art style from the show and drew a scene with the owners as the character's sidekicks. I also had fun additions, such as adding their vehicle and a cat house instead of the show's regular house.
